Degree objectives
The Master's Degree in Software Engineering (MES) aims to deepen knowledge in the field of programming, with an emphasis on the development of internet applications and the processing of large amounts of information. The typical profile of a graduate of this master's degree is that of a computer programmer. The course is structured according to international best practices, namely the ACM curriculum, and aims to provide specialised training that meets market demand. The course units and final master's project are geared towards the development of applications in collaboration with companies, preferably located in the district of Setúbal, but not exclusively.

Learning objectives and skills to be developed
The Master's Degree in Software Engineering aims to improve professional performance and skills development with a view to: Providing specialised training for computer engineering professionals who are capable of acting as agents of progress, innovation and cultural and social intervention. The training of professionals with a high degree of autonomy, flexibility, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills, capable not only of ‘knowing how to do’ but also of ‘knowing how to learn,’ an increasingly distinctive factor for success in a constantly evolving knowledge society.

Admission requirements
This course is intended for:
-Holders of a bachelor’s degree or its legal equivalent in the field of the master’s program;
-Holders of a foreign higher academic degree in the field of the master’s program, awarded following a first-cycle program organized in accordance with the principles of the Bologna Process by a country participating in that Process;
-Holders of a foreign higher academic degree that is recognized as meeting the objectives of the bachelor’s degree required for admission to the master’s program by the Academic Council (CTC) of the School where the program is offered;
