Electrical energy diagnostics
-
Course objectives
The particularities of billing and the increasing costs associated with electricity consumption make it essential to have detailed knowledge of how this energy is used in the consumer installation. Carrying out an Electrical Energy Diagnosis (EED) will allow the decision-maker in an installation to know the most important characteristics of how electrical energy is consumed in an installation. In order for the results of an ESD to reflect reality, it is essential to take care of a range of situations, from the quantities to be measured, the equipment to be used, the information to be collected and the processing to be carried out.

Learning objectives and skills to be developed
The student should be able to analyse electricity bills and carry out diagnoses of electricity use. The competences for carrying out electrical energy diagnostics include identifying the objectives, planning, preparing the visit to the installations and selecting the appropriate instrumentation for the analyses to be carried out. The student will also be able to analyse the information collected, as well as produce a diagnostic report. This knowledge will enable the identification of opportunities to rationalise consumption, which should help the decision-maker to adopt the measures best suited to the company's situation and objectives.
