Course objectives

The Higher Professional Technical Course (CTeSP) in Support of the Management of Social Organizations, in partnership between ESCE/IPS and ESE/IPS, provides ISCED (Short-cycle tertiary education) level 5 training, oriented to the labor market of Third Sector organizations. The Study Plan, organized on a semester basis and with a duration of 2 years, consists of curricular units with a strong practical component, for a consistent training in the areas of management, economics and social entrepreneurship, reconciled with fundamental knowledge in the areas of social intervention and community work. The course also includes training in a work context, through an internship of 600 hours of work in a social organization.

Learning objectives and skills to be developed

This is a course that aims to train professionals with a set of skills that allow them to support the directors and governing bodies of organizations in the 3rd Sector, actively collaborating in their organization and management processes with a view to a professional, balanced and sustainable performance of these organizations, within the scope of the fulfillment of their social mission. The Senior Professional Technician in Support of the Management of Social Organizations will be qualified to design, analyze and manage, from a functional and financial point of view, the projects and activities of organizations with social purposes. You should have technical skills that allow you to prepare and manage activity plans, reports, budgets and applications for programs to support social projects. He will be a professional capable of assuming the functions of foreman or general secretary of the organization.

Career opportunities

Professional Certification level 5 in Support for the Management of Social Organizations allows the exercice of technical functions in different areas of the activity os social organizations, advisor to the manager and social bodies of the organization; administrative technician; advisor in human resources, finance, communication, public relations; support for applications for national or international financing programs for social projects.

Recognition of prior learning

Recognition of prior learning is carried out in accordance with the Academic Regulations of the Polytechnic Institute of Setúbal.

Admission and entry requirements

Holders of secondary education or equivalent, which includes the subject of Mathematics; Holders of M23 Exams for access to the course; Holders of a technological specialization diploma, a higher professional technician diploma or a higher education degree.
